Mate Reader VIP Membership Service Agreement

1. General Provisions
This Agreement is a legal agreement between you (hereinafter referred to as "the User") and Foshan Nanhai Xingli Internet Studio (hereinafter referred to as "we" or "us") regarding the Mate Reader VIP membership service.
Before purchasing a VIP membership, please read all terms of this Agreement carefully, especially the bolded provisions regarding liability exemptions or limitations, refund rules, and dispute resolution methods. By checking the consent box and completing payment, you acknowledge that you have fully understood and accepted all terms of this Agreement.
2. VIP Membership Benefits
During the validity period, VIP members have unrestricted access to the following core features:
- Extensive Original Resources: Unlimited access to YouTube news, selected foreign publications, and TED talk transcripts — updated daily;
- Immersive Intensive Reading: Classic literature intensive reading mode with professional sentence structure analysis and grammar breakdown;
- AI Voice Assistance: AI-powered sentence-by-sentence reading for all articles and example sentences with natural pronunciation;
- Smart Speaking Assessment: Unlimited AI recording and read-along practice with real-time feedback on pronunciation accuracy and fluency;
- Multi-Dimensional Dictionary: Tap any word in the text for English-English definitions, collocations, and contextual example sentences;
- Scientific Memory System: Personalized vocabulary book and flashcard review, intelligently scheduling high-frequency reviews based on the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve;
- Cross-Device Sync: Real-time cloud synchronization of learning progress, vocabulary, and reading history across multiple devices;
- Ad-Free Learning Experience: Complete removal of all advertisements with priority access to dedicated customer support.
Non-VIP users can only access basic features for free, including but not limited to: a daily limit of 3 articles, 20 word lookups per day, and no access to AI speaking assessment or advanced review features. Specific free usage limits are displayed within the App/Mini Program.
3. Fees and Payment
Membership Pricing
- 24-Hour Trial Card: ¥1.00
- Annual Membership: ¥69.00 / year (approximately ¥0.19 per day)
The platform may periodically offer limited-time discounts, coupons, and other promotions. The actual price displayed on the payment page at the time of purchase shall prevail.
Membership benefits take effect immediately upon successful payment. Except as provided in Section 6 of this Agreement or as required by mandatory legal provisions, paid membership fees are non-refundable.
4. Auto-Renewal Rules
All current Mate Reader membership plans are one-time purchase models with no auto-renewal service.
Upon membership expiration, benefits automatically expire and no fees will be deducted from your account. To continue using the service, please manually repurchase.
5. Account and Security
- VIP benefits are exclusively tied to the WeChat account that completed the payment and may not be transferred, lent, rented, or shared with third parties.
- Users must safeguard their account information. If abnormal login activity or compromise is detected, please contact us immediately through the channels listed in Section 9. Losses resulting from the user's voluntary disclosure, account sharing, or device loss shall be borne by the user.
- If the system detects violations such as bulk farming, bot scraping, or abnormal multi-device sharing, the platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate the VIP benefits of the account without notice and without refund.
6. Refund Policy
Mate Reader VIP memberships are digital virtual goods. Once sold, refunds are generally not provided. Refunds may only be requested under the following special circumstances:
- Duplicate payment for the same order due to network latency or other reasons;
- Successful payment but membership benefits not activated within 72 hours, and customer service verification confirms the issue cannot be resolved;
- Other circumstances where refunds are expressly required by the PRC Consumer Rights Protection Law or other applicable laws and regulations.
If you meet the above refund conditions, you may submit a refund request along with proof of payment through the contact channels listed in Section 9. The platform will process the review within 7 business days.
7. Intellectual Property
All content within Mate Reader (including but not limited to foreign publication articles, TED video materials, audio, UI design, algorithm logic, and software code) is owned by us or the relevant rights holders. Without authorization, no individual or organization may copy, distribute, mirror, reverse engineer, or use any content for commercial purposes in any form. We will pursue legal liability for any infringement.
8. Disclaimer
- For temporary service unavailability caused by network communication failures, server maintenance and upgrades, third-party service interruptions, or force majeure, we will make every effort to restore services as quickly as possible but shall not bear any liability for damages arising therefrom.
- The learning content provided by Mate Reader is for language learning reference only. Learning outcomes depend on the user's personal foundation, time invested, and learning methods. We do not make any guarantees regarding specific test scores, language proficiency levels, or other learning outcomes.
- External articles and videos referenced on the platform are copyrighted by their original authors or publishing platforms. We present them solely for English learning purposes. If rights holders believe the content infringes their legitimate rights, they may contact us promptly for resolution.
